District-Wide Introduction to Resilience for Classroom Educators
Here's what that looks like in practice — in the words of the district leaders and educators who experienced real outcomes.Â
GOAL SETTING
Providing Educators with the Foundation for Enhancing Resilience Practice in Classrooms
This session aimed to introduce participants to the concept of resilience and the Theory of Resilience, while validating the wisdom, expertise, and lived experience they already bring as qualified educators and district leaders. Participants were invited to connect with resilience on a personal level, exploring how it has shaped their own lives, and engaged in activities designed to deepen their understanding of the concept.
From there, the focus shifted to empowerment — equipping participants with practical tools and strategies to address resilience in their work, and bridging theory to practice by examining how three core protective factors of resilience show up in real-world settings. Participants worked to develop both organizational and personal structures to support continued learning, integration, and growth over time.
Ultimately, the session sought to strengthen participants as resilient practitioners, encouraging them to build their own resilience support networks in service of the larger goal: supporting every individual and the district as a whole — cognitively, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
